Can Muse Be Taking With Medication For Erectile Dysfuntion?

The 750 mcg of muse did not help fully. May we use it with oral ED meds? Also if we have had no luck with the 750, is there much hope for 1000mcg? Also, are there just some people that the muse absolutely does not work for. We are not for the implants at all. Too risky and invasive. Thanks.

Hi.

Incomplete data like age, any associated medical illness, any drug intake, etc??

It is not advisable to take these two medications together.

Muse (Alprostadil) is a vasodilator which means that it works by widening (dilating) blood vessels to improve the flow of blood. When administered to the penis in the form of urethral suppository, blood flow to this area is increased, resulting in an erection usually within 10-15 minutes.

The usual initial recommended dose of Muse (Alprostadil) is 125 to 250 mcg. If necessary, the dose can be increased on separate occasions in a step wise manner until the patient achieves an erection that is sufficient for sexual intercourse.

The maximum dose per day is about 1000 mcg.

If you do not achieve sufficient penile erection even with 1000 mcg of Muse, then further increase in the dose is unlikely to give a good response.

Oral erectile dysfunction medications (Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors) may potentiate the BP lowering effect of Muse resulting in dizziness, light headedness, fainting, flushing, headache or rapid pulse or heart rate.

So, I would rather advise you to take oral ED medications like Sildenafil or Tadalfil if you do not take medications for high BP or treatment of ischemic heart disease by nitrates.

Hope this will help you.
