Can NASID Medication Cause Small Erosions In The Intestines?

I just had a capsule endoscopy to hopefully find the cause of my anemia. The results - I do not have ulcers but I have small erosions that resemble scratches in the lining of my small bowel. They are not ulcers, but I have been advised to avoid NASID meds and to have another blood test in 4 weeks. I was on NASID medication last summer for a back injury, but have not taken any since. Could the NASID last summer have caused these erosions or could this be a gluten allergy problem?

Hi,
NSAID taken for long time does cause gastric irritation and irritation in intestinal mucosa might give rise to chronic blood loss producing anemia after long time.
so stop taking NSAIDs or any pain killer medicine.
Take Omeprazole medicine for some time.
Ok and take care.
