Can Neufrontin Be Taken If One Is Allergic To Azithromycin?
Is a Macrolide like Azithromycin the similar enough to a Macrobid like Neufrontin (sp), to where if you are allergic to the later you shouldn't take the first?? My doctor prescribed Azithromycin but the pharmacist was concerned because she saw I was allergic to Macrobid. I'm afraid to take it now, but my lung hurts!! And I don't want to wait until tomorrow to ask my doctor.

Macrobid (nitrofurantoin) is an antibiotic but isnt macrolide like azithromicyne.
If you are allergic from macrobid you arent allergic from macrolides because isnt the same class of A/B.
You can take azithromycine.
