Can Nitrofurantoin Be Mixed In Water And Ingested?
if i have a soar trought and i was prescribed nitrofurantoin mono/mac 100mg caps because i had a (uti) infection and im 13 weeks pregnant is it ok if i open the white and black capsule and mix it in water n drink it will it still work the same or wat other way can i take it if i cant be able to swallow it?

Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Nitrofurantoin is classically prescribed for urinary tract infection. As you are pregnant, it was prescribed. 2. For sore throat, amoxycillin with clavulonic acid should be adequate and nitrofurantoin is not known to work well. This can be taken during pregnancy. 3. Also do salt water gargling.
