Can Pantocid Be Taken Continuously For Intermittent Abdominal Pain?

Hi, I am Annie M. Philip, 63 from Kerala, India. For the last one year or so, I have had experienced intermittent colic (abdominal) pain early morning and then I often felt to empty my bowels twice or thrice, or even more. On medical advice, about one year back I had undergone colonoscopy and in which some polyps found were treated. Recently about one year back in a local hospital another gastroenterologist was consulted who opined of the problem occurring due to intestinal movements , and accordingly an endoscopy was also undergone and nothing abnormal was also found. The treatments given are administering Pantacid in the morning and Triptomer in the night, during which time the morning symptoms are subsided with lessening of the pain and sensation for repeated emptying of the bowels. However, if the medicines are discontinued, the symptoms recur with intermittent stomach ache with the sensation to empty the bowels more often. Is there any problem in continuing to take these medications of Pantacid and Triptomer indefinitely? Please advise correct remedy for my condition. Thank you, Annie

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Read the history carefully and understood your concerns.
Noted the history of first colonoscopy with polyps, another review colonoscopy being normal and Tryptomer and Pantocid are helping for alleviating the symptoms.
All the history is indicative of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, the IBS.
Control of stress and/or anxiety helps a lot.
Stop all the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problems.
Be your own and you will be fine.
