Can Plavix, Aspirin And Humira Be Taken Together After Stent Placement?
Is it safe to continue taking Plavix 75mg daily and baby ASA daily when you have just been started on Humira 40mg subq every week. Our doctor did not address this and now I'm looking at side effects of this med. and wonder if these are all safe to take together. My husband has had 2 cardiac stent placements and that is why he is on the Plavix and baby ASA.

Hello, Welcome to HCM Humira (adalimumab) is a recombinant human IgG1 monoclonal antibody specific for human tumor necrosis factor. It is used for the treatment of various conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis ,Psoriatic Arthritis ,Crohn's Disease so on. Patient taking these are at risk of many bacterial, viral and paarasitic infections due to immunosuppression. Patients taking concomitant immunosuppressants such as corticosteroids or methotrexate sholud be very careful. These drugs should be avoided. There is no as such drug interaction between Humira ,Plavix and baby ASA that your husband is taking. No need to worry. But i would suggest your husband to get it evaluated periodically for active tuberculosis and test for latent infection during this drug therapy.
