Can Pristiq-Desvenlafaxine And Myrbetriq-Mirabegron Be Taken Together Without Side-effects?
Hi doctor, I am 83 yrs. young, I daily have to take an anti-depressant pill named PRISTIQ - DESVENLAFAXINE 50 mg. and as I have also incontinence, my eurologist asked me to try and take MYRBETRIQ - MIRABEGRON 25 mg daily, I would like to know if these two medications are alright to take by me or that the latter might have side effects by taking them together? and if the latter can cause problems in my bladder and might cause some damage there, and later cause for me to have a bag to urinate in, etc.?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) and Myrbetriq (mirabegron) are medications used for different conditions. Pristiq is an antidepressant, and Myrbetriq is a medication used to treat symptoms of an overactive bladder. It is possible to take Pristiq and Myrbetriq together, but it is essential to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new medications.
They will be able to evaluate the potential risks and benefits of taking these two medications together and ensure that there are no interactions or other concerns. It is also essential to monitor for side effects and report any unusual symptoms to your healthcare provider.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
