My 86 year old mother has had bleeding issues withing the lining of her stomach. Now doctor wants to prescribe and has given her Reglan. I was reading the side effects and that it is not for everyone. They said she had a slow stomach and this would help empty quicker. They said she needs to eat smaller meals and more times a day. she is in the hospital and is suppose to be released but the medication made her sleepy and I think it made her irritable. She uses a walker but seems not able to even get up to go to the bathroom without a lot of help. If we decrease her meals and work on that is this medication necessary. I m concerned because of her age. She is suppose to come in for iron infusions also.
