Hi ... I am 27 years old and a mum of a 3 year old and had a miscarriage in Jan 17 at 11 weeks ... usually I have a regular period cycle of 28-30 days but last month I had my rubella vaccination as adviced by my GP. This month my periods is delayed by 3 days, me n my husband have had protected sex. So confused about this delay. Kindly help
Rubella vaccination does not cause delayed periods. This vaccine has nothing to do with delayed menses.
Vaccines do not cause delay in period as periods are regulated by hormones Apart from pregnancy, delayed periods can also be due to stress, emotional upset, hormonal disorders, diseases of the ovaries, change of occupation, et cetera.
Wait for a couple of days if your periods do not start, you may consult a gynecologist for further evaluation to find out the possible causes and to induce bleeding.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
