Can STD Be Transmitted From Use Of Common Bathroom At Work?

Hi yesterday at work I went to use the bathroom and some water splashed on my vagina. I was very worried so after work I bought some baking soda and put some in my bath water to bathe with as well as soap because I did'nt want to feel irrated and I was very paranoid. This morning I used the bathroom and everything was okay and my vagina looked normal. I am thinking about going to the er just to make sure everything is okay. Should I be worried about any std's or infections ?

Thank you for query. You need not worry so much about STDs getting infected by the route mentioned.it is usually very very rare. Some irritations and infections can spread,if there are some infective organisms present and the area of contact is maintained unhygienicaly. As you have cleaned the area well you need not bother.baking soda may itself cause irritations please avoid it instead use gentle cleansers or mild soaps. You can get back directly to me for any clarifications.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist
