Can Seroquel And Lamictal Cause Any Side Effects If Taken Together?

I would like to know about the interaction of Seroquel and Lamictal in a 65 y/o male patient with an 8 year Hx of TLE controlled with Lamictal. He became quite paranoid, but with no first rank Sx, after starting Seroquel. Seroquel lowers seizure thresholds, so what should I be thinking about now.

Both of have minimal drug interaction and can be taken together.

yes seroquel can reduced seizure threshold and to be given in low doses to avoid seizure.Seroquel is among safest anti psychotic which can be given in seizure.

If paranoid features are controlled with low dose then no need to increase further and close monitoring require.

Safe alternate would be clozapine and it has very less interaction but taken only after doctors advise. Prior investigations are necessary before start this medicines.

Continuous follow up to neurologist and psychiatrist are advisable.
