Hello,
Sperm motility is not directly impacted by
Phenylephrine. Antihistamines can cause temporary drying of semen (reducing fluidity), which may affect motility in some cases when taken for a prolonged period. When paracetamol (
acetaminophen) is taken In high doses or prolonged use, it may affect testosterone levels.
Occasional use of Sinarest is unlikely to have a major effect on fertility. Since your semen motility is affected, consider switching over to alternatives like saline nasal sprays for congestion. Avoid long-term use. If you're concerned about fertility, consider a
semen analysis after a few months. In the meantime, quit smoking & limit alcohol intake. Both reduce sperm motility and count.
Take enough sleep, as poor sleep lowers testosterone and sperm health. Take a balanced diet; avoid taking packaged or processed food. Instead, take whole foods, vegetables, and lean protein. Do regular exercises. Take
high-protein diet and omega-3 fatty acids. Reduce stress and get clinically examined by a GP; get any underlying medical conditions treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
