Can Spiro Be Take By A Person With Hair Fall And Oily Skin?

I am an aa, with very dark facial skin. I have been diagnosed with too much testosterone. I forgot to mention that I have terrible hair shedding and very oily skin. The doctor prescribed Spiro. 50mg twice a day. Will this take care of my problems.

Hello
It would have been more useful if you would have specified your diagnosis and mentioned your testosterone level.
The most common cause of hyperandrogenism (excess testosterone in the blood of female) is PCOD (Polycystic ovarian disease ) and idiopathic hyperandrogenism. A rarer cause include congenital adrenal hyperplasia and much rarely it can be due to androgen secreting tumours.
Androgen excess in body is associated with excess hair loss in the scalp (androgenetic alopecia) and excess facial hair and body hair in a male pattern (hirsutism), nodulocystic acne
Spironolactone is a treatment for increased facial and body hair and is met with considerable sucess eventhough it is a mildly potent antiandrogen.
Eventhough patients on spironolactone have complained of scalp hair loss, it is likley to be due to underlying disease process than the drug.
Exercise and weight reduction will also help you in bringing down your testosterone levels.
