Can Suboxone Be Taken Along With Methadone?

My husband has been taking methadone for 20 years now and has never asked for an increase , he doesn’t have any side effects and when on his 30-40 mg. 3X a day can work and function . A couple of pain doctors have even told him they cant tell that he’s even on any opioid medication. Now his doctor wants him to take suboxone. We have been researching that drug and he doesn’t want to chance the side effects. On methadone he’s able to work and do things he’s supposed to do as a husband, father , grandfather and great grand father. He needs to find a doctor in our area that will prescribe the methadone he needs for his back and neck pain. He has pars5 defect ,herniated discs and spondiothisis.

You can safely suboxone while on methadone. It will not interact with each other or affect the efficacy of one another.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
