Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took NyQuil and I m wondering if I can take sudafed with it. I checked my bottle of NyQuil and it doesn t have any pseudophedrin in it. Am I okay to take the sudafed as well? The NyQuil I took for a cough suppressant, the sudafed I (would) take for congestion. Is it okay to take these two together because the NyQuil does not have pseudophedrin?
Welcome to HCM and thank you for the query. Only Nyquil D contains pseudoephedrine. You can take any other preparation of Nyquil with sudafed which has pseudoephedrine as the main ingredient. The sudafed formulations often contain an antihistamine. So the sedation from the combination would be more. So be careful and do not drive a car or do anything in which impaired alertness can be dangerous to self or others. Take Care Dr Noble Zachariah
