Can Tri-Sprintec Be Used As An Emergency Contraceptive?
Can Tri-Sprintec be used for an emergency contraceptive? If so, what is the proper dose? I have read many different forums and I ve seen it does work and it would not work. I stopped taking it for about three weeks because I did not receive my renewal in time. I just want to be safe and take something... I m within a 48 hour window, so I just need to know if this would work or not. Thanks.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Trisprintec is not recommended as emergency contraceptive pills as the formulation is different. You can use other emergency pills like I-pill which is quite effective and easily available. However, it can be used as a regular contraceptive pill and it has got good efficacy.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks.
