Can Venlor Cause Dizziness And Purple Bruises?

I have been on Velor 150mg for around 7 months now. I am 31 years of age, 74.49kgs and 1.73m tall. i often have very bad spells of dizziness and cold crawly type feelings under my skin. i ve noticed that i bruise very easily even when just scratching a bite I will turn purple. my dizzy spells are increased after any alcohol intake, I feel completely of balance and my head feels as if it is following my body a few seconds behind (not hungover). is this as an effect of Venlor 150mg?

Hi,

Venlor 150 mg contains venlafaxine. Venlor belongs to the group of antidepressant medications called serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI). It is used to treat anxiety disorder as well as depression. Venlor works by raising the levels of chemical mediators such as serotonin, noradrenaline etc in the brain. By restoring chemical mediators, Venlor maintains mental balance. Side effects of Venlor are dizziness, drowsiness, abnormal sensation of the skin like tingling, pricking, chilling, numbness, burning etc collectively called paresthesia, easily bruising or bleeding, loss of balance, chills or cold sweats, shaking of the hands or feet, ringing in the ears, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation, changes in appetite or body weight, allergic reactions etc. During taking Venlor, avoid alcohol consumption as it can develop excessive sleepiness and drowsiness as well as make damage the liver. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then you should inform your doctor first for medical attention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
