Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm trying to see if any ingredients in 'vitality now' pills will affect me negatively. I don't take any blood pressure medication, do take 2 'baby' aspirins a day, am 79 yrs., female . . . Wondering if gingko biloba or siberian gingseng would be deleterious to health. About 4 yrs ago had a tia, then another one about 1-1/2 yr later.
One of the most common side effects of Aspirin is bleeding. When taken along with Ginkgo biloba or Siberian Ginseng it may potentiate the risk of bleeding resulting in bruising, red or black stools, coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that looks like coffee grounds; severe headache; and weakness.
You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications.
You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual bleeding or or have other signs and symptoms as mentioned above.
There is no documented harmful interaction between Vitality Now pills and Aspirin however you need to consult your doctor.
Hope to have answered your queries.
Best regards.
