Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has significant swelling of the right lower leg and somewhat of the right ankle. There is no color change and the leg is only moderately warmer than the left leg. He has Sjogrens Syndrome and relapsing polychondritis. Recently had an angiogram, EKG and Echo as he has had chest pain - all came back perfectly normal. He has bronchial stents and uses a nebulizer 4 times a day to treat tracheobronchial malaysia. Could this be a blood clot or can he elevate and see what it looks like in the morning?
It could be deep vein clot of leg. So that clot should be ruled out by color Doppler ultrasonography. If it comes normal then rule out other causes of swelling like hypothyroidism, low protein level, liver disease and Kidney disease, etc. According to the cause specific treatment given.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
