Can A Child Be Delivered Earlier Than Due Date?

My brothers Girlfriend is pregnant with twins a boy and a girl...we found out the boy died possibly a few weeks ago and she is due in a month and the doctor is going to have her deliver it with the surviving twin in a month is this even right? This guy is supose to be a specialist but it just dont sound right to me

Hi, thanks for writing..
If she is crossed 34 weeks after giving 2 doses of betnesol injection, it would be better to deliver her.. The dead fetus can release harmful substance during the process of maceration which can affect the surviving twin.. Retension of dead fetus in utero can cause uterine infection which can be harmful for both mother and baby.. So it is ideal decision to deliver the baby and nurse her in the NICU.. If this is high risk pregnancy so the gynecologist takes the appropriate decision for survival of both mother and babies, after the 30 week delivery could be conducted in very emergency (rare condition) where the life of mother is matter, hope this information helps.
