Hi,

Your wife is having acute gastroenteritis like an infection of the stomach and intestinal mucosa. Initially it can be treated as viral gastroenteritis. For that symptomatic management can be done.

Maintain hydration with lots of water. The antiemetic drug can be prescribed for vomiting. Avoid excess spicy foods and semisolid, bland diet can be taken more.

If no improvement than investigate with stool routine micro examination and empirical antibiotic can be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
