Can A Fluid Filled Blister At The Injury Site Be Treated?

When I fell, I banged my shin. A huge bruise immediately appeared. The next day a very large blister formed on the top that continued to fill with liquid and puff out. It finally started weeping and a pale yellow fluid leaked out. For the last 3 days it has been filling and weeping. How do I treat this?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of traumatic rash, my treatment advice is:

1. Do not squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream on it.
3. Take an NSAID like Ibuprofen for 5 to 7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotic and oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
