Can A Lingual Frenulum Tear Cause HIV Transmission?
Hi, I just noticed I had a minor tear to my lingual frenulum. This happened while my boyfriend and I were kissing but I didn t notice it until afterwards. I have hiv but he doesn t, is there any way that he could have contracted the virus? I also didn t notice any blood but there turn area is deep red.
Hello Minor tear during kissing at lingual frenulum . You are HIV +ve , now read this : Although HIV can be ISOLATED typically in low titers from the saliva of a small proportion of INFECTED individuals (as you are an HIV infected ),but there is NO CONVINCING EVIDENCE that saliva can transmit HIV infection through kissing or through other exposure but mouth. Saliva contains endogenous antiviral factors, among these factos , HIV-specific immunoglobulins of Ig A, Ig G and Ig M isotypes are detected readily in salivary secretions of infected individuals ( as you are HIV infected but your saliva is also antiviral factors so HIV transmission is not possible to any partner even if injury present in mouth or on tongue). So don't worry about this. Hope this will help you. Good luck.

hello madam, thanks for your query on HCM, there are possibilities of it as the transmission of the disease does take place when there is transmission of body fluids between the two people... better get him examined and get confirmed as to what exactly is his status.. get him treated also better do be cautious the next time around.. wish you both goos health...
