i have a nodule on my right lung found on a ct scan, my 1st scan was 2 years ago when i had my 2nd scan nodule had shrunk some in size and my 3rd scan nodule had remained the same size as 2nd scan result, is it liable to become cancerous i am 71 years old female an have smoked since i was 15 years old i would appreciate your view on this please.
Your findings suggests stable nodules in right lung. Nodules may be due to many reasons like infection, autoimmune causes, malignancy etc. It is good that size has not increased. This is in favour of benign lesion.
Your condition only need follow up scan. In future also if lesions(nodules)are stable in size then it shouldn't be a matter of concern. You need clinical correlation also.
