Can A Period Be Advanced By Taking A Pill?

Hello,I am a 21 year old girl. The situation I have is that I have an important event lined up for 10th and 11th of March and I do not want my period to clash with those dates. So,can I take a pill to get my period immediately so I can finish before 10th? My period due date for this month was 1st March 2011. Please help.
