Can A Person Having An Artery Blocked At 50 % Lift Heavy Items Or Go For Gym?
hello from Italy! I had IM last september today I had a control with a cardiologist he said that I am recovering very well he said that I have another artery blocked at 50 % and I have to reduce cholesterol my question is:
can I go to the gym and doing little weights lifting? can I do running?
Hello, Thank you for the query. Firstly we would like to know if the heart attack has left behind a damage to the ventricular function or not. Usually, a blockage of 50 % does not cause any symptoms even in efforts like running. So, if your heart is pumping blood effectively(this means that the ejection fraction is normal) you can run. But I suggest not to go for heavy sports like lifting weights.
