Can A Pregnancy Test Be Negative But I Still Miss My Period?

Hi my implanon was to be taken out in May and it's now August and I just got it removed. I am having pregnancy symptoms such as leaky breast, cramps, and nauseous all the time after eating or not ate at all. I have taken a pregnancy test which came back negative. Please help me understand what is going on. I have never had normal periods so I can't tell you when my last one was.

Hi,
I understand your concern.
- The hormone inbuilt in Implanon can lead to sore breasts but leaky breasts are rare.
- You had implant on even after expiry of the device , for 3 months. Usually the implanon is effective for 3 years ( 4 years off the record ). & pregnancy test is also -ve.. so though you have least chances of pregnancy it is better to exclude it completely by Blood HCG testing.
Leaky breasts need to be investigated when it's without pregnancy. It is mostly due to hormonal imbalance ( Increased TSH / increased prolactin levels)
* Consult an endocrinologist , get investigated & start with specific treatment.
Thanks.
