Can a red spot on face be cancerous? I m 28 and my skin has been acting up lately and I ve had this red spot on face for 6 or 7 months now.. some days it looks brighter and some days it looks lighter.. If I run my finger over it there is a slight bump but very subtle. It kind of looks like a pimple that I was aggressive with and this is the result but I am not sure that I had acne in that area.. What do you think?
Hi, Welcome to HCM, Red spot on face is not cancer, so, be cool. It might be cherry angioma. It is also known as De Morgan spot. It is benign condition. There is proliferation of capillaries in the dermis. There may be some cause or without cause..i.e. idiopathic... Liver diseases, dyslipidemia,DM,endocrinal diseases..etc may be associated with cherry angioma. You may contact dermatologist..for perfect diagnosis.. If it is not embarassing, it may be kept untreated. Otherwise, it may be removed by electrocautery under local anaesthesia..
I hope you got my answer. Regards,
