Can A Ribcage Injury Cause Muscle Detachment From The Bone?
I injured my ribs (Upper left side under arm area) approx. 4 weeks ago. I assumed it was only a severe bruise, it had been feeling better, and I had been continuing to work out lightly with Cardio and some ab work, suddenly it feels as bad as it did when it happened. No x-rays taken, is it possible to pull or detach the muscle from the bone?
Rib fractures may not cause muscle detachment, but the movement of chest wall movement became paradoxical.
So unable to maintain negative pressure in the rib cage lead to dyspnea or pain and delayed fusion, etc.. The severity depends upon the how many ribs fractured and how damage accrued.
So, please get it done chest X-ray, then consult your orthopedician he will examine and treat you accordingly. Hope I have answered your query.
