Can A Right-sided Varicocele Be Caused By Testicular Injury Or Pressure From A Spermatocele?
Hi, my question is besides the serious underlying medical cause like obstruction in internal organs etc can a right sided varicocele be caused by an injury to the testes like being kicked or can it be caused by a spermatocele pressing on veins in the scrotal bag
Varicocele is commonly caused by the malfunctioning valves in the veins within the scrotum. Thus, blood doesn’t move through the veins like it should and begins to pool in the vein, causing it to enlarge. Injury or pressure in the spermatic cord can contribute to the development of a varicocele by increasing pressure on the veins.
Consult a urologist. You will be given pain killers (such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen) to help relieve pain. If Varicocele is diagnosed the treating doctor may recommend Embolization if needed or prefer to do Surgery depending upon the symptoms & severity of the medical condition. Varicocelectomy is the best treatment for varicocele.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
