Can A Rotator Cuff Re-injury Causing Discomfort And Limited Movements Be Treated?
I am concerned with symptoms of a re-injury of a rotator cuff.....currently had surgery on the one shoulder...soon to have the other one done for the same......but with the PT I have been having...I am a bit discouraged with the recovery rate......it seems the discompfort is still quite high....and limitation of movement....the surgery was may the 29th and I have been going to PT 3 times a week since then
My dear friend, I agree with you that rotator cuff surgery is very painful and also result of surgery are very slow to appear. Also there is lot of stiffness in the shoulder for most of the time. I think it depends on how severe was the tear and also if it was very much retracted then pain is usually very severe. I would recommend you to persist with the physiotherapy and have patience. I can assure you that you will be fine soon. I would recommend you to also use hot water fomentation as it will provide good pain relief. And above all I would also suggest you to take tablet Amytryptalin which is goof for such type of pain and gives very good results. Avoid sleeping on affected side. If pain is not decreased even after 6months then get a repeat MRI of the shoulder.
