Can A Somatic Disorder Like A Migraine Be Self-treated?

It has been suggested, diagnosed even, that my migraine condition is somatic or somatoform. If this is the case, why can t I fix myself? I have a strong mind, I m very intelligent. I would think I could disbelieve in the somatic condition and make it go away.

Hello,

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated. You have to get an MRI scan to look for any possible intracranial causes. As of now you can take analgesics like ibuprofen or tramadol for pain.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
