Can A Tight Fitting Shoe Cause Swollen, Red, Painful Toe And How To Treat This?

Hello, 3 days ago my fourth toe on my right foot began to feel sore. A bump formed by the end of the first day. The area where the bump is located is now red, hard, and swollen. It is not warm. I have tried a hot press and I have soaked my foot in water with a few drops of eucalyptus, rosemary, and pepperment essential oils, the latter has helped with the soreness of my toe but it is still swollen, red, and painfull. I did not bump my toe. I did however wear tight shoes 4 days ago but took them off after about 6 hours.
