the drs have found a 3.8cm mass on my 45 yo daughters adrenal gland .shes been having upper abd pain ,they think may be from her gallbladder ,no stones ct found the mass with no symptoms. she has cut back on her beer but for years has drank 12 or more cans of beer every night.will this affect the adrenal gland ?
Alcohol has been proven to cause alcoholic liver disorder, increased cholesterol, heart attack, withdrawal seizures.It does have effect on adrenal gland secretions however it is unlikely to cause adrenal mass.
Studies are still going on regarding carcinogenic effect of alcohol.Yet to get a conclusive answers regarding it.
I would still suggest your daughter to stop using alcohol as it derails metabolism of other drugs.
