Can Allergy Medicine Cause Drug Test To Be Positive For Barbiturates?

my husband took a drug test for a job he is likely to get. on his test it showed positive of barbs...which he does not take. he does take allergy medicine otc and also uses a inhaler. the only other thing i can think of is he drinks coffee like a maniac as well but nothing adds up to using barbs...is there a chance his meds caused this mix up or something else?

Oddly enough, for OTHER drugs than barbiturate. On the other hand, since the common screen is merely sticking to a strip, the false positives are mainly due to things which are never known, are quite common, and are able to be ruled out by the better GC-MS test. Yes it is VERY likely it was a mix up (but remember than fiuricet has barbiturate), and that is able to be cleared up.
