I am 42 yrs old , 5.6 " tall.I experienced severe pain in my right lower abdomen three days ago.The US Scan revealed that I have bulky uteres and bulky right ovary & to rule out torsion. Is it due to some infection in the ovary that it has become bulky?
HELLO DEAR I understand your problem, dear as such there is no term bulky ovary , it may be enlarged due to cyst or solid mass, ultrasound should differentiate mass is simple or complex , cystic or solid , with or without internal septations, wall and septae thickness , increased vascularity and tthe causes are different for different type of cyst and there are many cause of bulky uterus such as pregnancy, adenomyosis , fibroid etc. Most probably enlarged ovary with bulky uterus may be due to ovarian endometrioma along with adenomyosis so you should consult gynaecologist to find cause and manage accordingly. THANKS
