Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
november 2011 i got bite of rat so i went to hospital to have anti-rabies vaccine and they gave me rabipur vaccine for 3 sessions and 2 shots each session. i want to ask if on august 2011 i get pregnant would it still have an effect on me and on my baby?
To put your mind at ease, the Rabies Vaccine (Rabipur) is NOT contraindicated in pregnancy and studies have shown NO effects on either the mother or the baby. It will NOT increase the risk for miscarriages, premature births, or fetal birth defects. I do hope this answers your question. Please feel free to allow me to address any other concerns you may have.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. David Girardi, Internal Medicine Specialist
