Can Antibiotics Taken After Gingivectomy Cause Diarrhea?

I recently had a Dental Procedure (Gingivectomy) and was prescribed antibiotics as a precaution to infection. After about 2 weeks on the antibiotics I developed a severe case of Diarrhea. I was told that my flora was out of balance and I began a very strict diet of meat, vegetables & yogurt (all natural) no sugars no carbs. It has been 4 weeks now and still going strong. Don t know what to do. Plan on going to walk-in clinic tomorrow. Feeling drained.

Diarrhoea lasting for four weeks is unlikely to be due to antibiotics alone and so need further evaluation.. Antibiotics can cause diarrhoea but I don't think it will last this long...so definitely go to hospital for further evaluation... In the mean time , take plenty of oral fluids like ORS, lime juice with salt and sugar etc...fluid loss must be the reason behind your tiredness...so take ample amount of fluids...
