Thanks for your question on HCM. Active pulmonary tuberculosis on chest x ray means presence of cavitation, infiltration or both. This appearance is seen in active TB infection. Active Tuberculosis means infectious. Tuberculosis spreads by cough droplets. When patient with active tuberculosis coughs or sneezes, tubercular bacilli come out in environment as droplets and these droplets can spread infection. Normal healthy individual can inhale these droplets and may develop TB lesion in lungs. So active tb lesion on chest x ray is infectious. It does not spread sexually but due close contact in intercourse ,can spread through inhalational route in your partner.
