Can Appendectomy Cause Difficulty In Breathing And Pressure In Stomach?

My 20yr old daughter just had her appendix removed 2 days ago. She's having difficulty taking a deep breath. And when eating can only take a couple of bites and feels full or feels like there's pressure in that area. Is this a normal after effect of surgery or should we take her back to hospital.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your daughter's appendix was removed by which method of surgery? Was it laproscopy or through laprotomy? Pain will be there at the site of surgery up to a week to a month.

Just check she is passing gas or feces, check her bowel movements, if bowel movements are less don't give her orally it leads to stomach distension, take her to a doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
