Can Bags Of Skin On The Rectum Walls Lead To Colon Cancer?
I'm 23 and gay. When I was cleansing myself prior to having anal sex, I felt these weird "things" inside my rectum. I searched online and ended up scaring myself with the possibility of colon cancer. These "things" feel like tags of skin sticking out from the walls of my rectum. Should I be worried or is it probably benign? I eat a healthy diet, I exercise regularly and am in excellent physical condition, but I am unsure of a family history of colon cancer as I have never had a relationship with my biological father. Sorry if this is a weird question, but your help would definitely put my mind at ease...
Hello, the lumps inside the rectum are known as anal polyps or hypertrophied anal papillae. Yes a cancer is a possibility. I would request you to see a colorectal surgeon at the earliest possible. He may do a proctoscopy or even advice a colonoscopy. If its polyp the it can be removed and sent for biopsy to find any early changes towards developing cancer. dont want to scare you but this is the only way to confirm your diagnosis and treat it. take care. Hi I will advise you to do a colonoscopy test. If any lesion is found then biopsy has to be done to rule out malignancy. Regards DR DE
