Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Bitter Melon Be Eaten While On Kombiglyze And Citalopram?
I take the following medications and am thinking about adding the herbal plant, bitter melon to help control my diabetes.. How do i determine if it will interact with my current medications and the dosage to consider: Kombigglyze XR 5 Citalopram linsinopril carbidopa/levodopa Stattin(?) Calcium
There is no such interaction between Kombiglyze and bitter melon. The only thing to consider is hypoglycemia. Bitter melon can help reduce blood sugar levels. As you are taking Kombiglyze, both can have the same effect so more chance to get reduced blood sugar. There is no problem to take alongside other drugs too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Albana Sejdini
