Can Blood In Stool Be An After Effect Of A Punctured Artery?
I recently took a serious fall down a flight of stairs that resulted I a punctured artery.. I was treated an a hospital emergency room.. I was given blood and saline.. released after several hours.. that was a month ago.. now I have large amount of blood in my stool..no pain or discomfort.. but I am concerned.. it came on suddenly.. could the two be related ?
Here you have mentioned, the artery is injured. If this was the abdominal artery, that is opening in the intestine lining; then the blood stain stool could be due to that. But there is nothing to worry because it could be collected blood, second it can be due to constipation, it can be due to a fissure, it can be due to hemorrhoid, and all of these need differentiation.
Apart from this, it can be due to an intestinal infection. This condition really demands the medical attention, if it's severe. Else you can wait for some time. If this is nonspecific then it will be gone on its own.
Hope I have answered your query.
