Can Breast Cancer (cured) Lead To Increased Endometrial Thickness Along With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)?
I'm 40 years old right now .......and I already got complete treatment of breast carcinoma last year. The problem is .....now my periods not regular and on my doctor's suggestion ...I got my endometrium checked up , the result was it got got thickened to 14mm from 8mm.On ultrasound I got to know that my left ovary has cysts in it.now my doubt is, what is link between BC and PCOD. and what is my health status right now and ...and how it would be if PCOD is confirmed.
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Breast cancer itself doesn't increase endometrial thickness, but medicines given for its cure can cause the problem, especially if you are taking tamoxifen. Thickened endometrium needs evaluation irrespective whether you have PCOD or not. Kindly get yourself evaluated to rule out serious endometrial problem & get treated for the same. Wish you good health.
