Can Broken Humerus Result In Numbness Throughout Body Including Thumbs?
Hi I am a 77 year old female, broke each humerus left one in July and the right one in sept. they are healing nicely without surgery., I leep soundly on my back, but the right hand not the left, seems to fall asleep in the night. I wonder if I sleep so good that I don't move it much at night thefore causing the n umbing pain until I get moving when I get up and it goes away? I drive quite a lot and sometimes my thumb right hand will start to become numb until I readjust the hand position. Thanks. Patricia

A fractured humerus can lead to a nerve injury such as this. It is likely to recover but may take weeks to months to return to entirely normal.
