Can Brown Vaginal Discharge And Light Spotting With No Periods Indicate Pregnancy?

My husband and I have been having unprotected sex for the last few weeks trying to get pregnant. About 5 days ago, I had a brown sort of discharge, which I thought might be the start of my period. The next day there was nothing. The next day I had a very light spotting, then the next day nothing. The next day I had what I thought was the start of my period, but now I'm getting nothing again. Should I take a pregnancy test? Normally my periods are like clockwork.

Understand your concern
Yes there may be possibility of pregnancy as you had unprotected sexual intercourse during ovulation time/fertile period of your cycle.
Brown discharge and light spotting around period time may be suggestive of implantation bleeding that occur 6-12 days after fertilization.
If your period will delay by 8-10 days then go for home pregnancy test (should be done with fresh morning mid stream urine).
In absence of pregnancy rule out the hormonal imbalance and Ovarian dysfunction/PCOS by consulting the gynecologist.
