Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 22 year old female with widespread pain. It is mostly in joint areas like knees, ankles, fingers, shoulders, lower and upper back. At night my arms really bother me. I have been unable to sleep well. I also suffer from depression and take celexa 20mg daily, and I have several bulging disks in back and I take ultrums for this. I often have muscle spasms like charlie horses that last 10-15 minutes about every night. I also have tightening of the muscle in the palm of my hand. Any ideas of what this may be would be much appreciated.
Dear April, Welcome to HealthcareMagic!
Please continue medication for depression as it will take time for full relief. Other symptoms of pain suggest that you may have fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome, but these are rare possibilities. I advice you do discuss this with your psychiatrist first. You may also consider a medical specialist/ rheumatologist consultation. Meanwhile, please take OTC pain relievers like Tab. Acetaminophen or Aspirin for relief. Good luck.
Dear
as you have reported that you have several bulging disks in back i believe this to be the main cause for pain as most of nerves have their origin from spinal cord. Depression at you age shoulnot be there. donot be introvert talk about your problems and give your emotions a way. meditate , believe in God, He can work wonders , just you have to exert and silently wait. In Ayurveda we recommend kati vasti, greeva vasti and shirodhara for such ailments. basically in this medicated oil is poured on affected area and fore head and kept over disk bulge for 45 minutes to one hour. You can have herbal medicines also internally to strenthen your muscles.
