Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Chemotherapy is given to kill cancer cells in the cancer mass.
If there is no cancer, how can a doctor give chemotherapy to your friend mother.
Presence of cancerous gene is a risk factor for cancer. But chemotherapy is not given for cancerous gene.
Don't worry about it.
Hope my answer will help you.
Thank you!
