Can Choosing Close Vision Give Long Distance Clarity?
I am having cataract surgery soon. I currently have perfect close vision and need corrective lens for distance (with a .5, on a scale of 1-10 astigmatism). I don t know the type/length of clarity with close versus distance IOL ...if I chose close vision, will I have clarity only at 3 feet or will I be able to see up to 20 feet away?
Hello It seems from the history that you are undergoing cataract surgery. Choosing an intraocular lens for near vision will not correct for distance. If you want to get correction for both distance and neat vision without need for spectacles you can go multi focal lenses as these lenses will give correction for both distance and near. Do discuss with your operating doctor regarding this.
Thank you
