Can Cocaine Cause Thinning Of Inner Lining Of Nose?
i used to use cocaine but not any more. my nose was thinner but seemed to be getting better. however the last few days it seems to have got thinnier again and the sides seem to have caved ina bit. the padding round my septum seems to have disappeared again to. will this heal again. and why would this happen again
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
Cocaine is known to cause nasal septal irritation, thinning and sometimes, even perforation when taken via the nasal route (snorting). You have mentioned that there is thinning of your nasal septum which seems to be worsening recently.
It is advisable to see an ENT doctor in order to have a proper examination so that the correct diagnosis can be made. Further treatment would depend on the nature and severity of the problem. So, kindly seek medical attention at the earliest so that future complications can be prevented.
Wish you all the best.
